Black History Month
Black History Month 2026 celebrates "A Century of Black History Commemorations". This theme invites us to look back on one hundred years of Black history, culture and literature and to reflect on how Black voices continue to shape our present and future. Literature, of course, plays a central role. Throughout this selection, we can see how Black writers have questioned social structures, shared their experiences and created space for resistance and imagination. From its roots in American society, Black History Month is now celebrated in many countries and we're happy to share just a fraction of our favourite books celebrating Black people, Black culture and Black history
